Stauning, the award-winning Danish whisky, announces Illinois launch with exclusive tasting and listening events in Chicago, as we continues our US expansion.

To mark the launch, Stauning hosted a series of exclusive tasting and listening events in the heart of Chicago at BIÂN and Dorians with founder Alex Munch. This exciting launch marked an important milestone and follows the success of Stauning's launch into the US market.

Guests attending the events had a unique opportunity to sample Stauning’s exceptional rye whisky portfolio in an exclusive tasting with Alex Munch himself, exploring the stories and passion that drive Stauning’s outstanding distillery practises. The event also hosted guided talks uncovering the sounds and soul of Denmark’s whisky-making traditions and what led Stauning to become the award-winning brand it is today.

Stauning chose to launch into Illinois due to its historical and cultural ties to Denmark, with Chicago in particular home to many Danish-Americans. The vibrant Danish community has significantly contributed to the city’s cultural mosaic, with the two destinations showcasing similar architectural bonds and culinary excellence. Amongst everything they also share similar values, championing community, sustainability and innovation – making the partnership between Stauning and Illinois the perfect match.
